Tree for Life contest rules
- Winner of Tree for Life contest will get their tree from Young Farms in Lyndonville, VT and Young Farms will select the tree annually for them.
- Winner will receive their tree from a Young Farms location. The winner will receive one fresh-cut Christmas Tree annually or one choose & Cut tree from Young Farms. Delivery, setup and takedown are not included and are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- For this contest "lifetime" means up to thirty years. Prize award ends upon death of winner or termination of Young Farms. Prize is not transferable and has no cash value.
- There is one winner. The winner is the one who guesses the exact number of needles on the selected contest tree. If no one guesses the exact number then the winner is the person with the closest guess. In the case of a tie the winner will be determined by random drawing by Young Farms.
- A 7 foot Fraser Fir Christmas tree will be the tree used for the contest. A similar tree will be displayed at each Young Farm's location for the contest. Young Farms will randomly select one of the three displayed trees to count the needles on.
- The needles will be counted in 2012 and the winner selected in 2012. If less than 250 people enter the contest, it will continue into 2012 and a winner selected in 2013.
- Winner agrees to allow Young Farms/Vermontevergreens to use any photos, video, media, etc for promotional purposes or otherwise and agrees all publicity and promotional material is the sole property of Young Farms.
- Displayed contest tree may not be touched or handled. Each entrant is allowed one guess.
- Contest is open to all customers at Young Farms.

Young Farms/Vermont Evergreens is holding a contest to determine the number of needles on a Christmas Tree. Young Farms, based in Lyndonville, VT has selected a 7 foot tall Christmas Tree and will be displaying it at their retail lots at Clarks Sunoco, exit 12 in Williston, VT, 244 Broad Street, Lyndonville, VT and at 220 Lebanon Road, Hanover, NH for the Christmas season.
Each person is allowed to guess the number of needles on the tree. The winner receives a supply of Christmas Trees for life!
According to Allen Young of Young Farms "I have wanted to do this for years-I think we are the first in the nation to actually count the needles on a Christmas tree".
"Many people are concerned about the number of needles that fall off a tree-when actually most of the needles do stay on a tree-so we wanted to count them and involve our customers in this exciting process. We will hire a group of people after Christmas to actually count them."

And the winner will receive a lifetime supply of their Christmas Tree - compliments of Young Farms/Vermont Evergreens.
